Author Guidelines

1. General Policy

Articles submitted to the International Journal of Education and Theoretical Research (IJETR) must be original research findings that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication in any other journal. The journal focuses on publishing research in the field of education at all levels. All submissions must adhere to the highest standards of academic writing.

2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1. General Formatting

  • Language: Articles must be written in clear and concise academic English or Indonesian.
  • Word Count: The total length of the manuscript must be a minimum of 5,000 words.
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  • Typography:
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
  • Spacing: Single-spaced (1.0).
  • Paper Size:
  • Margins: Standard (2.54 cm / 1 inch on all sides).

2.2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be organized in the following sequence: Title; Author Information; Abstract and Keywords; Introduction; Method; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; and References.

  1. Title:
  • The title should be concise and informative, not exceeding 15 words.
  • Format: Centered, ALL CAPS, Times New Roman, 12 pt, Bold.
  1. Author Information:
  • Provide the full name of all authors without any academic degrees.
  • Include the institutional affiliation (name and address) and a valid email address for each author.
  • The editors will correspond exclusively with the first author or the designated corresponding author.
  1. Abstract and Keywords:
  • The abstract must be provided in two languages: English and Indonesian.
  • The maximum length is 250 words. It must concisely cover the research background, objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusion. The English version should be written in italics.
  • Provide 3-5 keywords that accurately reflect the content of the article.
  1. Main Text Structure:

The main body of the article must be structured with the following headings. Headings are formatted as Level 1: Times New Roman, 12 pt, ALL CAPS, Bold. Sub-headings (Level 2, 3, etc.) are formatted as: Times New Roman, 11 pt, Title Case, Bold.

  • INTRODUCTION: This section should be presented as an integrated essay containing the research background, context, a concise literature review establishing the research gap, the research questions, objectives, and the significance of the study.
  • METHOD: This section should provide a detailed, paragraph-form explanation of the research design, data sources (e.g., population, sample, participants), data collection techniques, and the data analysis procedures that were implemented.
  • RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: This section presents the findings of the analysis in relation to the research questions. Every result must be thoroughly discussed, interpreting its meaning and comparing it with relevant theories and/or findings from previous similar research.
  • CONCLUSION: This section should provide clear answers to the research questions or a synthesis of the key findings from the discussion. It must be presented in a concise paragraph format.
  1. REFERENCES:
  • The reference list must only include sources that are cited within the text.
  • A minimum of 80% of the references must be from literature published within the last 10 years.
  • Primary sources, such as research articles from reputable journals and official research reports (including theses and dissertations), are strongly preferred.

3. Citation and Reference Style

This journal strictly adheres to the APA Style 7th Edition (American Psychological Association, 7th Edition).

  • In-text Citation:
    • Use the (Author's Last Name, Year) Example: (Brown, 2017).
    • For 3 or more authors, use (First Author's Last Name et al., Year) from the first citation. Example: (Deane et al., 2008).
    • For direct quotations, including the page number is mandatory (Author's Last Name, Year, p. 37). Example: "..." (Brown, 2017, p. 37).

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables: Tables must be created without vertical lines. Use only horizontal lines for the table header and the bottom of the table. The table title must be bolded and centered above the table.
  • Figures: All images or diagrams must be clear and have high resolution. The caption for the figure must be placed and centered below the image.

5. Submission and Review Process

  • Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal's official submission portal: https://journal.synrise.org/index.php/ijetr/about/submissions
  • Review: All submissions are subject to a peer-review process conducted by reviewers appointed by the editorial board based on their expertise. Authors will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscript based on the reviewers' and editors' recommendations.
  • Decision: The final decision of acceptance or rejection will be communicated to the corresponding author via email.

6. Author Responsibility

The author(s) bear full responsibility for all matters related to copyright, the licensing of computer software used in the manuscript, intellectual property rights (IPR), and any legal consequences that may arise from the publication.
